No matter how large or how small a meeting is, Waikiki Beach Activities works with meeting planners that are looking for a special "Hawaiian" way in which to welcome their attendees. The Aloha Ho`omana ceremony does just this. Each event is tailored to the specific group. It is performed at the beautiful Duke Kahanamoku Lagoon located at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Beach Resort & Spa.
Duke Kahanamoku, an Olympic Medal winner and the father of modern-day surfing, was Hawaii's first ambassador of Aloha. He shared his aloha spirit with everyone he met. Duke Kahanamoku lived by a creed he wrote, known as "Duke's Creed of Aloha".
"The Aloha State" became the official nickname of the State of Hawai'i by a Joint Resolution of the Territorial Legislature on April 23, 1959.
 For several years Waikiki Beach Activities, the shepherd of Duke's Lagoon, has conducted many Ho'omana ceremonies to welcome visitors and dignitaries to Hawaii in Duke Kahanamoku's spirit of Aloha. The Aloha Ho`omana ceremonies are performed at major events.
The welcoming ceremony includes a memorable Koa Paddle engraved with Duke's Creed of Aloha.

The ceremony is based on the Hawaiian Ho'omana ceremony where the a person, group of people or a company delivers a certain mana (aloha, love, respect, comittment, pledge) into a vessel (paddle) that is given to another person, group of people who rece the mana through acceptance and holding of the paddle.
