How Waikiki Beach Activities Has Contributed To Climate Mitigation

Since 1990 WBA has held a "No Carbon Footprint" policy. All of WBA's guest activities are either; Gravity Power, Wind Powered, Surf Powered or Human Powered. WBA's 80-passenger catamaran has a small motor, but it is only used for docking.

Over the past 28 years WBA has been offered the opportunity to own, operate or sell carbon intensive visitor activities including jet ski operations, parasail operations and Duck Boat Tour operations and WBA has turned them all down on the basis that they would create a carbon footprint.

In 1991 WBA invested over $500,000 Dollars in a 49-passenger Solar Powered Catamaran but it was never completed because the solar technology at that time was not viable.

As to Climate Change: Since 2017 WBA has led in the effort on Duke's Beach to adapt to Sea Level Rise and to King Tide Wave Run Up and we are the early warning system in this regard and are currently working on a program to adapt Duke's Beach to the ongoing Sea Level Rise.

Although WBA is the largest full-service Pool, Beach, Pier activity company in Waikiki with over 50 employees it has no impact on the commercial and residential communities on Oahu.
